COVID-19 Information

Masks are optional but no longer required to be worn in our office.

The mental health aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to affect our patients today. We are working hard to support our patients and families with available resources both in and out of the scope of our practice. Please reach out today if you have concerns about your child regarding the COVID-19 virus.

If you have questions related to COVID exposures or a positive COVID diagnosis, please read the updated CDC guidelines below.

Reasons to call the office for guidance:

  1. Chest pain
  2. Increased work of breathing/labored breathing
  3. Concerns about dehydration
  4. Fever of more than 101 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 72 hours in a child younger than age 2
  5. Fever of more than 101 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 120 hours (five days) in a child age 2 or older

Cardiac clearance requirements:

  1. Apply to those who ages 12 and older involved in any JV, club, or varsity sports
  2. An office visit is required at least 7-10 days after a positive COVID-19 test if symptoms are resolved and if your child:
    1. Had more than four days of a fever greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit
    2. Had more than seven days of muscle aches, chills, or extreme fatigue
    3. Was hospitalized
  3. For children with asymptomatic or mild COVID-19, you may call the office to book a telehealth visit. Our providers will assist you in providing a clearance letter for a gradual return-to-play protocol. This applies if your child had fewer than four days of a fever less than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit and fewer than seven days of muscle aches, chills, or extreme fatigue.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

Immunizations works best when we are all immunized. We know that people who are vaccinated against COVID-19 but experience breakthrough infections have less-severe illness and fewer hospitalizations. There is also data to suggest that vaccinated people are less likely to transmit the virus due to lower detectable viral loads.

Our office offers the Moderna vaccine for children 6 months through the age 11 and the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 12 to 18.

Please call our office or send a message via MyChart to schedule your child's appointment for the vaccine, or you can ask about it at your child's next appointment. If you do not have a MyChart account, we can set it up when we schedule your appointment.

You can contact any pharmacy or go to the Cape Cod Healthcare website for information on where to get the series.

Please read the fact sheets below before your child receives the COVID-19 vaccine:

Once you have read the fact sheet, please click the link below and print and sign the COVID-19 Waiver that says you have read the fact sheet and consent to our office to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to your child.
